See Live Mode in Action · Transcript Demonstration of live mode on Le Lab’Oh!, recorded in an isolated environment with fictional data (the sample essays of the session « Et pourtant »). No class, no student data. The video has no sound: the explanations are written on screen. [0:00] (Title card: Le Lab’Oh!, Live mode.) Live mode. A whole-class activity in which learners take part from their own devices. Recorded in an isolated demo environment: every name and text on screen is fictional sample data, with no class and no student data. — 1 · Introduction — [0:06] (The projected title slide of «Et pourtant», with the live-mode block at the bottom left.) The teacher’s screen, projected in class: « Et pourtant », a B1 argumentative-essay session. In live mode, each learner takes part from their own phone or computer. Nothing to install. — 2 · Opening the session — [0:15] (The writing page of lelaboh.com, level B1: the «Et pourtant» card and its En direct sticker.) The teacher opens the session from the site. Live sessions carry the En direct sticker. [0:21] (Zoom on the live-mode block: a QR code, the address lelaboh.com/eleve and the code LORO12.) The session opens with its own code, shown with a QR code. Learners go to lelaboh.com/eleve and type the code, or scan it with their phone. [0:31] (The writing slide «Votre essai»: the question, the instruction, a 13-minute timer and the code reminder.) The writing slide gives the question, the instruction and a timer. The code stays on screen. — 3 · Learners take part — [0:37] (A phone on lelaboh.com/eleve: the code LORO12 is typed and the writing space opens. On the right, the projected slide with the same code.) On a phone: lelaboh.com/eleve, then the code from the board. The session opens straight away, in the right mode: here, the learner’s writing space. [0:46] (The learner’s writing space: title, first-name field, text box with the question as a placeholder. On the right, the projected writing slide.) A title, a chosen name, a text box: the question is already waiting inside it. [0:51] (Close-up on the phone: the title «Une cour où personne ne se parle», the name Sara, then the essay being typed (typing shortened).) She gives her essay a title and signs with a chosen name: Sara, a fictional learner. Then she writes. The text is one of the session’s own sample essays. [1:02] (The projected checklist «Cinq choses à chercher»: five boxes to tick before sending.) Before sending, the class rereads with a five-point checklist projected on the board. [1:09] (Split screen: on the phone, «Envoyer à la rédaction» then «Envoyé ! Votre lettre est partie.»; on the projected wall, Sara’s essay appears.) One tap sends the essay to the class… …and it appears on the board as soon as it is sent. — 4 · Back on the shared screen — [1:17] (The projected wall «Les essais de la classe» fills with three more essays; the counter reads «4 essais».) The other essays arrive in the order they are sent, like the pages of a class newspaper. Here, three more fictional learners: Tomas, Mina and Diego. [1:25] (The teacher opens Diego’s essay: it is shown large, in a reading panel on the wall.) One click opens an essay, large enough for the whole class to read together. [1:33] (On the phone, the «Je lis» tab: the list of the other essays; Sara selects Diego’s essay and votes («Je vote pour cette lettre»). On the right, the projected wall.) On their phones, learners read the other essays… …and choose only one: the one that made them think again. One vote each, and they can still change their mind. [1:45] (The slide «Deux réponses, une objection»: three criteria for a real answer, then three steps (read both, decide, test the objection).) Then the class compares two essays that answered the same objection… …and decides which one really answers it, with three shared criteria. [1:55] (The wall’s controls: «Imprimer les essais», «Nouveau code», «Tout effacer». After clearing, the wall is empty: «Le courrier est vide.») The essays print on a single sheet, and a new code can be created at any time. At the end, Tout effacer deletes the essays and the votes from the database. [2:04] (Summary card: three points.) Everyone writes, the class reads. Every learner can contribute, from their own device. Every text reaches the shared screen, readable by all. The class discusses real texts, with shared criteria. [2:13] (Closing card: lelaboh.com/mode-demploi.) Try it with your class. The user guide explains how to open a session, share the code and clear the room: lelaboh.com/mode-demploi. Recorded in an isolated environment; Sara, Tomas, Mina and Diego are the session’s fictional sample essays. — Running time: 2:20
